Camp Anthony was operational with
CCC Co 2590 in garrison from August,1935 to mid March of 1942. It was
located in Neola, Greenbrier County. The Conpany, designated as F-18,
was charged with the usual Forest Service missions of fire fighting,
tree planting, road construction and other forest management projects.
In May, 1941 the unit was transferred to the Marlinton vicinity at
Black
Mountain, using the campsite of CCC company F-15 for the summer,
before returning to Neola in the Fall. There it remained until March,
1942 when the personnel were transferred to Jane Lew in Lewis County
to become part of SCS-12 at Camp Stonewall Jackson.
