I wish I would have known about a program like the CCC when I quit school in 1998. I may have been better off in my life if given the opportunity to work, learn ,and grow. I love the woods. I didn’t even know about CCC program until a couple months ago. I went on a hike through a T.V.A. park in Muscle Shoals Alabama stumbled upon some interesting things in the woods and started doing some research . I found that the things I had stumbled upon were built by the guys in a CCC Park, I had no idea what that meant so I started doing research on that and it finally brought me here . It’s an absolute blessing ,I would like to thank everybody in your organization for all the time hard work and effort they put into a museum to honor the hard work of our ancestors and the unity it provided for a county during a difficult time, that’s really awesome!! |

My father was a member of the Raleigh CCC Camp. I recently came across a few photographs of him at the camp, one with the camp name and company number sign. He always talked about the CCC work he did and in part credited his experiences and training with his assignments in the Marines in WW II. If you are interested in the photographs, please let me know. There are other members in the some of the photographs, but unfortunately I have no names. |
